CACS hosted another successful CACS Banquet at the spring National ACS Meeting in San Diego on 3/24. Over 83 attendees pre-registered this time for the CACS Banquet through ACS, and more wanted to attend on site. Past ACS Presidents, ACS Board members, senior ACS staff, and ACS Councilors who are good friends of CACS attended, along with many students, faculty and professionals to enjoy a delicious 8-course Chinese Banquet. It included Peking Duck, whole fish and many other traditional dishes. An overview of recent CACS Activities at its four Local Chapters and the very active National Student Chapter was shared by Prof. Lousie Jingo Liu, the 2022 CAS President.
After dinner, Dr. Marinda Wu, the former Board Chair of CACS moderated an informal Fireside Chat with Dr. David Wu, the recently elected and first international ACS Board member. It was a great way for all who attended to get to know Dr. Wu better. Several employers had the opportunity to make announcements about job openings. The CACS Board Chair Dr. Qiong Yuan also conducted some fun raffles for guests to win various CACS souvenirs. The Board sincerely appreciates Dr. Ana Tai and Dr. Chu-An Chang from CACS Northern California Chapter and Dr. Huichun Zhu from WuxiApptec for their support on organizing this event.
